Europe has been HOT this summer and flooded with American travelers! Yes, it’s crowded and extremely busy because so many people are traveling in 2022. Americans traveling to Europe is up 600% from last summer. In 2021, many of us were still dealing with the pandemic and not comfortable traveling outside of the country. In 2022, many are ready to travel again & BIG!
Why visit Europe Now?
Europe is the hot spot this year due to the Euro being equal if not lower at times to the US dollar. This change in the value of the Euro hasn’t happened in 20+years, so Americans need to take advantage of it! Your money will take you much further having the US dollar vs. the Euro.
Prices of international flights are down 15% from last year. It’s a great time to book a flight because the flights are at a lower fare. The other big change in Europe is the use of credit cards. Many European shops, restaurants, etc. are accepting credit cards in Europe instead of just cash. You will still want to take some cash with you, but having a credit card with you will be easy to use. Plus, if you are a point kind of traveler, then you will definitely want to use your cc.
Preparation is KEY!
If you can, I would avoid weekends and be flexible on your dates. When you fly “across the pond” as an American, you’re going to have jet lag. You want to try and get on their time schedule as soon as you can. A little tip from a pro – GET UP EARLY! If you watch any of the travel bloggers or travel content creators, you see that they are in locations with no crowds. Wonder why? They arrive early in the morning before sunrise or right at sunrise, when the best time to get your photos and to avoid the crowds. Preparation is key!
